Brum is currently the sole insect repellent product on the market that uses an emulsion used in the human area instead of skin irritating solvents such as alcohols, turpentines or benzenes. Oil is used as an ingredient in the emulsion that controls the evaporation of the effective ingredient and thus significantly prolongs the effective duration of the insect repellent.
The effect varies depending on the horse and its activity – heavy perspiration – and the weather: from at least two to over five hours. The application can be repeated at any time without a problem.
Brum is registered with the Federal Office for Health, Switzerland, is biodegradable, non-toxic and contains absolutely no fragrances or preservatives.
The repellent used in Brum has been rated as “very skin-friendly” and “most effective” by the Stiftung Warentest, a leading German consumer safety organisation - First Place.
It is applied successfully in cases of sweet itch as a part of a routine therapeutic regime with Decalyte.
Thanks to its natural, agreeable scent, it is also accepted very well by all horses during spraying.
